Tony Packo’s and ‘M.A.S.H.’

I recently went to Toledo. The Real Seafood Company was a great choice on a Monday – great perch and clam chowder.

On my way to lunch, I spotted the sign for Tony Packo’s Cafe. So after lunch, I returned to check out the venerated venue mentioned often by Klinger in the hit “M.A.S.H.” TV series.

Packo’s was founded in 1932 as a hot dog restaurant in the Hungarian/Polish section of Toledo. A local woman I chatted with told me how much she liked the chicken paprikash. Sounded good to me, but I had to head east.
