My granddaughter is quite an accomplished rower and coxswain out of The Foundry rowing center for her high school, Saint Joseph Academy, in Cleveland.
There are a number of major rowing groups in the Buckeye State – Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati are all very active.
You don’t have to be a young person to row. The sport is perfect for all ages. Learn-to-row programs are excellent. Coaches will teach you everything a rower needs to know. You gain experience through sculling (two oars per person) and land work on rowing machines. Some facilities even have indoor rowing tanks.
