You can’t get any farther northeast in Ohio than Conneaut. That’s where 1,700 re-enactors will gather this summer to recreate the World War II invasion of Normandy beaches. D-Day Conneaut 2019 runs Aug. 14-16.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of Normandy, and this re-enactment continues to be among the largest in the country. There will be re-enactors and weaponry of Allied and German forces on display, with opportunities for spectators to stroll the encampments.
Highlights include recreated battles with troops in landing crafts. This photo gallery shows what you can expect to see.
