December buckeyes

When I found out that these folks were all born in Ohio during December, I couldn’t believe it.

Larry Csonka, from Stow, played for the Miami Dolphins. George Armstrong Custer started life in New Rumley and died at Little Bighorn.

Phil Donahue entertained us, mostly through his talk shows, well after leaving Cleveland. Harvey Firestone hailed from Columbiana before he headed to Akron to make tires.

I had forgotten that Steven Spielberg and Roger Staubach were from Cincinnati. Teri Garr, the actress from Lakewood, was also born in December.

My list is not complete without Willoughby’s Thomas Daniel “Tim” Conway.
