Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine is hosting an event in Dayton on Sept. 26 to help communities support the mental health needs of children.
“Building Resiliency: A Pediatric Mental Health Summit” is open to adults across the state, such as parents, coaches, school personnel, therapists, counselors and health care professionals who touch the lives of children. Attendees will learn how to spot the signs and symptoms of trauma in children and strategies for addressing it.
Another resource is Growing Resilience, a no-cost online publication to help parents understand the impact of trauma on children and how to help them heal.
