Ohio Department of Health, colon and rectum cancer was the fourth leading cause of cancer incidence in Ohio at 9.2% in 2015.
One-third of those was diagnosed at a local stage, for which the five-year relative survival probability is 90%. However, another third was diagnosed after the disease spread to other organs or lymph nodes, with the five-year survival probability dropping to 71%.
