Raise the blue flag to fight colon cancer in Ohio

Ohio Department of Health, colon and rectum cancer was the fourth leading cause of cancer incidence in Ohio at 9.2% in 2015.

One-third of those was diagnosed at a local stage, for which the five-year relative survival probability is 90%. However, another third was diagnosed after the disease spread to other organs or lymph nodes, with the five-year survival probability dropping to 71%.

Colon cancer is preventable and early detection saves lives: Speak with your healthcare provider about preventative testing, including a fecal occult blood test or DNA stool test, colonoscopy or virtual colonoscopy.
