In 2017, the Suhy family experienced a year like no other. They lost their eldest daughter, 18-year-old Allison, a freshman at Ohio University, to a severe food allergic reaction. As the Suhys accepted their loss, they vowed to find purpose in their tragedy.
They launched the Allison Rose Foundation, dedicated to changing the lives of food allergy families through education, awareness, research and advocacy.
Severe food allergies continue to be misunderstood. If proper education is put in place from a young age, food allergy sufferers, their support systems and the general population, will be properly informed and prepared.
