Ashtabula County boasts the longest covered bridge in the country. The Smolen-Gulf Bridge is 613 feet long and stands 93 feet above the Ashtabula River. This bridge has a width of 30 feet and height of 14 feet, and a whopping life expectancy of 100 years. Ashtabula County boasts 17 covered bridges.
