Is the AP Stylebook outdated?

AP Stylebook

This e-newsletter is aimed at readers of business news, so we use The Associated Press Stylebook for reference, like journalists everywhere. But what about prospective contributors who majored in liberal arts, business or tech? Can they use the MLA Style Manual or the Chicago Manual of Style, or the guides from Microsoft or Apple?

If you have something to share with our readers, go ahead and write it. We don’t expect any style but your own. We’ll make sure it flies with the AP. If interested, you can always purchase your own hardcopy or subscription for the AP Stylebook.
