Good news and bad news

by
Cleveland Indians

If you follow Major League Baseball, you know players’ salaries can skyrocket. That was the case this winter with the Cleveland Indians’ prized shortstop, Francisco Lindor.

Lindor, who just turned 25, was making the league minimum of $625,000 during the 2018 season. Last month, the Indians agreed to a 2019 salary of $10.55 million to avoid arbitration. My calculator blew up trying to figure the percentage increase.

Lindor is an All-Star who has won a Gold Glove and Silver Slugger Award and helped the Indians reach the playoffs the last three years. Bad news: Frankie is injured.
