Did you know that Ohio has more drive-in theaters than almost any other state, tied with New York? Ohio boasted 189 drive-in theaters by the end of the 1960s, and while many have closed, you can still catch a movie in the comfort of your car.
The travel website Vacation Idea lists its 25 Best Drive-in Theaters in Ohio, including the Starlight Auto Theater, one of the first drive-ins that opened in 1937. Despite the rise of the multiplex, DVDs and streaming movies, many drive-in theaters have survived. Nostalgia is alive and well in Ohio.
