Brown reintroduces Cars and Jobs Act

Sherrod Brown announced he will be reintroducing the American Cars, American Jobs Act. The bill would give Americans who buy U.S.-made cars a $3,500 discount and a $4,500 discount for electric or plug-in hybrids – the cars GM says will replace the Cruze.

Companies that cut the number of American jobs and move jobs overseas will lose their tax breaks. Brown’s bill says if manufacturers move American jobs abroad, they should lose the “50 percent off coupon” and pay the full 21 percent rate. Keep your jobs here, keep your discount.
