For Ohio lakes and streams looking for a solution for harmful algal bloom, check out what the Medina County Park District is doing at Chippewa Lake.
The park district is working with the Save the Lake Coalition to increase public awareness and involvement. In addition, the park district and coalition have engaged Aqua Doc for an in-depth analysis of nutrient levels. That report not only indicates the lake can be saved, it suggests directions to be considered.
A startup company is partnering with the park district on new bioreactor technology that may help manage algae. Early reports are encouraging.
