Three Ohio counties are ranked in the top 100 nationally, according to new estimates released in April by the U.S. Census Bureau. Those counties, rankings and population include:

• No. 31 Franklin (Columbus) at 1,310,300

• No. 35 Cuyahoga (Cleveland) at 1,243,857

• No. 75 Hamilton (Cincinnati) at 816,684

Summit County, which includes Akron, is the nation’s 128th largest county at 541,918. Los Angeles, as the nation’s largest county, is nearly the size of Ohio in population, with more than 10.1 million residents. For comparison, just under 11.7 million people live in Ohio.
