Schools across Ohio recently experienced a snow day, mostly because of cold temperatures. You know what that means: Get outside with a sled, toboggan or skis.
Growing up, that meant convincing my mom (a teacher) to load up the Chevy with a sled or two and drive us to the neighborhood park, the hill with a concrete wall at the bottom to keep us from sliding into the creek.
A popular toboggan run between Cleveland and Akron was at Virginia Kendall Park. It was open only at night, making for an exciting last few hundred feet across the frozen lake.
