Women athletes team up for 2019 calendar

They may not come together on the same field, but when members of five northeast Ohio women’s sports teams huddled to figure out how to support each other, raise awareness and inspire their fans, they found a common goal: a calendar.

The 2019 Women’s Sports Calendar features female athletes from the Burning River Roller Derby, Cleveland Fusion football, Iron Maidens rugby, Cleveland Crush basketball and Cleveland Comets softball.

The calendar is $12.50 and buyers can earmark the money toward their favorite team. Pickup locations are on Cleveland’s east and west sides. Place orders through the Cleveland Women’s Sports website.
