For each of the last 34 years, on the Saturday before Christmas, a unique holiday tradition takes place with the Tour of Good Cheer, where volunteers deliver clothing, personal hygiene items and toys to over 1,600 individuals in one day.
Started by Dick Clough, the tour involves nearly 100 of his colleagues and friends who board buses near his home in Lakewood, Ohio, to deliver the items.
Last year, the tour had a record distribution at 10 tour locations and other facilities and programs. It elicited calls for help from The Plain Dealer, government agencies and media outlets.
