My mom was a painter/artist/art teacher, and recently I’ve been thinking a lot about her art. I think I got my creative mindset and DIY spirit from her.
Right before Christmas, I purchased two paint-by-numbers. They are a little more elaborate than what I had as a kid, yet perfect for scratching that painting itch. I recently grabbed her easel, as it makes me feel close to her.
March 11 would have been her 75th birthday, and in the spirit of celebrating her gift of art, I pulled out my canvas, sat on my screened porch and started to paint!
