The funeral of a friend from a previous job took me to the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Medina County just west of Akron. It’s one of two national cemeteries in Ohio, the other being in Dayton.
He was a Navy vet from the Vietnam era. He never told his co-workers any grim stories, but he did relate a few funny ones about serving on board a ship of war.
This Memorial Day, I’ll visit his gravesite again. It will be flying a U.S. flag like every other grave marker in this cemetery of those who served.
