By using adaptive technology and insightful teaching methods, golfers with disabilities can play the game they love once again. (Video by The Turn)
In our state, there are at least two major programs using golf as a way to help disabled people become more active on and off the course. My son and cousin are two of the golfers enrolled at The Turn.
It’s inspiring as The Turn golfers participate in weekly golf activities, including PGA professional instruction and The Turn league. Through a partnership with the Cleveland Clinic, a physical therapist is available at each session. Thus, golfers not only improve their game, they improve their ability to handle day-to-day activities.
In Columbus, OhioHealth Fore Hope is a similar program.
