What’s your favorite Ohio state park? There are many with lodges and cabins, among them Burr Oak, Deer Creek, Geneva, Hueston Woods, Maumee Bay, Mohican, Punderson and Shawnee.
My family’s favorite is Salt Fork in Guernsey County (near the I-70 and I-77 interchange). In addition to swimming, fishing, water skiing and golfing, there’s the local history of hiking the area traveled by Confederate Gen. John Hunt Morgan on his Civil War raid. Offseason activities include sledding, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and hunting.
We like to rent a pontoon boat and cruise the lake to the Stone House Museum.
