What’s your favorite Ohio state park? There are many with lodges and cabins, including Burr Oak, Deer Creek, Geneva, Hueston Woods, Maumee Bay, Mohican, Punderson and Shawnee.
My family’s favorite is Salt Fork in Guernsey County. The park features swimming, boating and golfing. The hiking trails were traveled by Confederate Gen. John Hunt Morgan on his Civil War raid through Indiana and Ohio. For the adventurous, there’s Bigfoot Weekend June 21-23. Off-season activities include sledding, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and hunting.
My family likes to rent a pontoon boat and cruise the lake to the Stone House.
