My daughter has been ordered to deploy to the Middle East. As a member of the Ohio National Guard, she and her unit have embarked on a journey of readiness.
They will go through a training mission that includes Fort Knox, Kentucky, desert maneuvers at Fort Irwin, California, firing at Camp Perry, Ohio, and Fort Bliss, Texas, before deployment.
How often do we think about the Ohio National Guard or the Army Reserve, there to augment their active duty counterparts? Let’s keep the Guard, the Reserves and your favorite soldier in our thoughts. I am so proud of my daughter.
