Screen time is rising among older Americans

by

A Pew Research Center analysis has revealed that Americans ages 60 and older are spending an average half an hour per day in front of a screen more than they did just a decade ago.

The rise in screen use is evident across genders and education levels among older Americans, whose internet usage rates are also increasing. Today, 73 percent of Americans over the age of 65 are internet users, up from 14 percent in 2000.

In order to accommodate for increased screen time, aging baby boomers are spending less time on other recreational activities such as socializing and reading.
