When I heard about the Museum of Divine Statues, I decided to do some research on it. I remembered the impact statuary had on an erstwhile altar boy.
It seems that Lou McClung (see video), a makeup artist and cosmetics manufacturer, was drawn to this ministry. It becomes very logical how his cosmetic skills transfer such beauty to the statues he restores or creates.
McClung preserves Catholic history and tradition by rescuing, restoring and displaying all kinds of religious artifacts in a reflective and respectful museum setting. That setting has been carved into the former St. Hedwig Church in Lakewood.
