Today, when you need to find something, you Google it. If you’re seeking business data, however, that may not be enough.
A local librarian said, “Google is a search engine, not a database.” To gather sufficient and reliable business information, you may need a database.
The good news: Your local library has scores of databases – many of which are accessible online and off-site. Industry data. Market data. Company data. Salary data. It’s there … if you know where to look. If you don’t know, ask your librarian for help. The best thing? Most of it is free for the asking.
