Recreational trails are extremely popular in Ohio. Communities across the state are planning and building trails to provide residents with more chances to live healthy, active lifestyles. Officials at the state level are helping out with the new Ohio Trails Vision program.
The program was launched this spring by Ohio Department of Natural Resources and TourismOhio to promote the trail system by working more closely with communities, land managers, trail advocates and users. Ohio has more than 1,600 miles of trails for hikers, bikers, walkers and paddlers. A 2018 survey said many tourists visit our state for outdoor recreation.
