Area Development magazine lists Ohio as the ninth best state among site selection consultants because of its low business costs, incentive programs, competitive labor and other advantages. The nationwide panel of consultants are acquainted with each state’s ability to attract new business.
There were 12 categories that helped determine the final rankings. Ohio ranked No. 1 for most-improved economic development policies and No. 5 for access to capital and project funding. The panel liked Ohio’s labor environment and workforce development.
Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina were the top three states in the survey. Georgia has been first for the past six years.
