Snapshot of Ohio’s school voucher programs

Ohio school voucher programs

In Ohio, there are two ways to receive scholarships for your children.

The Educational Choice (EdChoice) Scholarship Program provides students from underperforming public schools a chance to attend private schools. The same program offers certain low-income students kindergarten through fifth the same opportunity.

For children with special needs, the Jon Peterson Scholarship issues vouchers to Ohio students for private school tuition and other educational services. The Ohio Department of Education sets school voucher limits. Depending on the disability, the funding and eligibility vary.

Start with your school counselor to determine whether to transfer students to a more suitable school.
