Ohio holiday festivals, from gingerbread to German fare

Light up the season with the PNC Festival of Lights at the Cincinnati Zoo, running through Jan. 5. Be dazzled by 4 million LED lights and enchant the kids with a blacklight puppet show and the fairies in Fairyland.

Columbus hosts a family gingerbread house workshop on Sunday, Dec. 8. All supplies will be provided, including candy and sprinkles for groups up to three. Just bring four soup cans, which will be donated to a local food pantry.

A Bavarian Christkindlmarkt comes to Cleveland from Dec. 7-8. Partake in traditional German food and drink and wander through booths that showcase local artisans.
