Ohio jumps to 15th for business

Ohio scored its highest-ever ranking on CNBC’s 2018 Top States for Business list. The Buckeye State ranked 15^th on the cable business channel’s eighth annual list, landing just behind Nebraska and just ahead of Indiana. States were ranked on 10 criteria, including workforce, education, innovation, cost of doing business, cost of living and economy.

Ohio took the 16^th spot in 2017. The state’s well-regarded hospital systems and Medicaid expansion helped obtain the higher ranking. Previous rankings ranged from 18^th in 2014 to 28^th in 2013. Texas took the No. 1 spot this time around.
