Largest solar farm a possibility

It could happen! The PUCO is considering building the largest solar farm in Ohio history.

The utility could build two solar farms in Highland County: a 300-megawatt Highland Solar Farm and 100-megawatt Willowbrook Solar Farm. If completed, the former would become the state’s largest solar farm.

American Electric Power, which serves 1.3 million residential and 200,000 commercial customers, says the two solar facilities would support 4,000 construction jobs, including 113 permanent manufacturing jobs in the solar supply chain. AEP plans to develop 900 megawatts of renewable energy production in the state following the PUCO ruling.
