Digital transformation

Digital transformation is revolutionizing companies of all sizes across all industries and sectors. Last year, Phillips 66 began implementing Electronic Work Permitting (EWP) as part of its digital transformation.

The standardized fully electronic system with universal permit requirements, terminology and approval processes is eliminating paper permitting from the company’s refining business.

For perspective, a large-scale refinery maintenance and revamp project can require 14,000+ permits. EWP reduces waste and enables refineries to complete routine and major maintenance more efficiently and safely.

Details on this, and the company’s other environmental and safety performance improvement projects, are in the just-released 2020 Sustainability Report.
