Imagine a hyperloop that whisks people and cargo the 13 miles or so between John Glenn Columbus International Airport and Rickenbacker Airport. That’s an idea that could become reality in the next decade and eventually become a link to a route connecting Chicago, Columbus and Pittsburgh if Virgin Hyperloop One proceeds with the project. Pretty awesome!
The hyperloop will move freight and passengers at hundreds of miles an hour through vacuum tubes. Speeds ultimately could reach 600 mph. Magnets will lift and propel the pods. The “Midwest Connect” route would move passengers from Columbus to Chicago in about 30 minutes.
