Amazon is expanding operations in Ohio, with the planned opening of two fulfillment centers in Akron and Rossford, the latter a suburb of Toledo. The centers are expected to create more than 2,500 full-time jobs. Amazon already employs more than 8,500 workers statewide.
The Akron facility will employ about 1,500 and be located on the site of the former Rolling Acres Mall, which has been demolished. The Rossford center site is yet to be determined. When completed, each center will total more than 700,000 square feet and be used to pick, pack and ship items.
