The Woodpecker and Lake Trails Loop is a 2.2-mile trail with a flat, paved path thats easily navigable by beginners and those with wheelchairs or strollers that takes only 40 minutes to complete.
Its former life as a golf course has given way to 10,000 native plants and trees, including meadow plants, wildflowers and blooming hibiscus. The easy stroll, replete with deer and ducks, features a few ponds along the way.
Bird watchers rejoice: Look for the great blue heron, redwing black birds, jays, robins, sparrows and a red-headed woodpecker, if youre lucky. Plus, you might even spot a moose.
