Northeast Ohio is building a reputation as an important hub for additive manufacturing or 3D printing. Cluster members include Lubrizol, NASA, Owens Corning, Parking Hannifin, Timken and many other large and smaller organizations.

Educational institutions in the area are also committed to preparing students for AM technology careers. Among the 26 accredited colleges and universities in the region (with nearly 400 more within a 150-mile radius) include Case Western University, University of Akron, Cleveland State University, Youngstown State University, Cuyahoga Community College and Stark State College, among others.
